LOIS ELLEN BRENNEMAN

Lois Ellen (Hege) Brenneman, 84, of Lancaster, Pa., died May 23, 2010, due to congestive heart failure. She was born March 22, 1926, to Jonas E. and Elizabeth (Baer) Hege in Washington County, Md.

On June 10, 1951, she married John K. Brenneman.

She graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School, Harrisonburg, Va., in 1947. She was an active member of Life Mennonite Fellowship Church in West Willow and a former member of Laurel Street Mennonite Church, Lancaster, and East Hanover Mennonite Church, Palmyra. For many years she worked as a tour guide for visitors to the Amish area of Lancaster County. She and her husband were distributors of Golden Neo-Life Diamite nutritional supplements. As a homemaker, she was blessed to entertain many guests.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John; two daughters, Miriam H. Groff of Manheim and Debra S. Kohl of Minersville; three sisters, Barbara Risser and her husband, Benjamin, Dorothy Groff and her husband, Marvin, and Martha Hossler and her husband, Paul; two brothers, Nathan B. Hege and his wife, Arlene, and David B. Hege and his wife, Arlene; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tamara Lennon, in 1976.

Funeral services were held at New Danville Mennonite Church of Lancaster. Burial was in the church cemetery.
