MARIA BRAUN

Maria Braun passed away Nov. 22 of a heart attack in Swift Current, Sask. She was born Jan. 16, 1920 to John and Helena Fast in Russia. In 1926 the family immigrated to Beechy, Sask. In 1938 they moved to Virgil, Ont. She married John L. Braun June 8, 1941. They lived in Beechy. In 1960 they moved to Admiral, Sask., retiring to Swift Current in 1978. She was devoted to her family. She shared her time and her hospitality with others. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking and giving away her crocheted items. She is remembered for her service to others; her love of games, especially Scrabble; her love of reading, sharing her books with others; and her deep concern for the spiritual welfare of her family. She faithfully supported various Christian organizations. Predeceased by 5 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson, she is mourned by John; children Marie of Regina, Lorence of Calgary, Loretta Catchlove of Australia, Dick of Simmie, Sask., Rosella Unger of Waldeck, Sask., Terry of Admiral, Victoria Posmituck of Red Deer, Alta., Erna Ball of Delta, B.C., Nancy McCann of Regina, Danny of Admiral, Arlene Bowers, Carol Gates and Val Moen, all of Swift Current, and Tim of Leduc, Alta.; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was Nov. 25 in Bridgeway Communty Church, Swift Current, with Cliff Janzen ministering.
