SERVICES HELD IN VIRGINIA FOR BETHANY SEMINARY PRESIDENT
Chicago, III. — Funeral services for Dr. Rufus D. Bowman, president of Bethany Biblical Seminary were held at the Bridgewater, Va. Church of the Brethren on Saturday, Aug. 23. Dr. Bowman passed away Aug. 19 at an Emporia, Kan. hospital en route home from a speaking trip to the West. He was 53 years of age.
Officiating at the final service were Dr. Paul H. Bowman, Dr. Raymond Peters, Dr. Warren W. Slabaugh, Rev. I. James Eshleman and Dr. John S. Flory.
As president of the Bethany seminary, Dr. Bowman was closely associated with the affiliated school, Mennonite Biblical seminary.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Craun Bowman, two daughters and one son.
