College Teacher Dies In Car-Train Crash

Wayland, Iowa. — A railroad crossing accident in Mt. Pleasant, Ia on April 28 claimed the life of Linda Marie Boshart, 24, an instructor in elementary education at Iowa Weslyan [sic Wesleyan] College of that place.

She was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church of Wayland, where the funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. on April 30. Rev. Vernon Gerig and Rev. Robert Hartzler officiated.

Miss Boshart daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Boshart of Wayland, died instantly when her compact auto was struck by a C. B. and Q. freight train. The locomotive carried the auto nearly one block, after which it became dislodged and then struck a crossing signal post.

Miss Boshart received a B. S. degree in elementary education from Goshen College in 1966. She taught fifth grade at the Waco Elementary School here for several years, and last summer received her Master's degree from Northeast Missouri State College, Kirksville, Mo.
