Girl Killed When Truck Overturns

Wayland, Iowa. — Two members of the Jacob Y. Borntreger family of Curryville, Mo. are recovering from injuries received in an accident south of Crawfordsville which claimed the life of a two and one-half year old daughter, Barbara J. Borntreger, on June 15. Funeral services for the little girl were held at Kalona.

Injured when the truck in which the family was riding overturned were Mrs. Borntreger, who had lacerations on her hand, and another daughter, Sarah J., 4, who had a broken leg. Mr. Borntreger and three other children were not injured.

It was reported that the truck hit a dip in the shoulder of the highway, went out of control and overturned. The family was en route to Kalona to attend Amish church services.
