● Funeral services for Harold L. Borchardt, 77, of Newton, were held Aug. 22 at Grace Hill Mennonite Church, rural Newton, with James Voth officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died Aug. 19 at Axtell Christian Hospital, Newton. A farmer, he had moved to Newton from Denver, Colo., in 1948. Survivors include his wife, the former Leah Rose Nickel; and one sister, Ella Tarabetz of Colfax, Calif.
