Aged Grandfather Leaves 160 Descendants
Kalona, Iowa. — Joseph N. Bontrager, 90-year-old member of the Old Order Amish church, died Dec. 8 at the home of his son, Fernandis J. Bontrager, east of Kalona. Funeral services were held at the Lloyd Ropp home.
Mr. Bontrager leaves a total of 160 descendants, including seven children, 51 grandchildren, and 102 great-grandchildren.
A native of Shipshewana, Ind., he lived there for many years and in the Thomas, Okla. community from 1941 to 1959. Surviving him is his second wife, the former Delila Yoder Gingerich of Thomas.
