Friends here received word of the death of Mrs. Eli Bontrager of Madison County Ohio, on Saturday April 30. Mrs. Bontrager's death was due to injuries received in an accident Saturday night when the buggy in which she was riding was hit by an automobile.

Blinded by the lights of an approaching automobile, the driver of the second car did not see the buggy until he was close upon it. As the car hist the buggy, Mr. Bontrager was rendered unconscious and it was not until later, when he asked for his wife was it known that there was another occupant n the buggy.

Upon returning to the scene of the accident it was found that Mrs. Bontrager's body had been hurled about 15 feet from the road. She sustained internal injuries, a broken neck and numerous bruises and was probably killed instantly.

The buggy was completely demolished and the automobile wrecked almost beyond repair, but the horse was not hurt.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, and Mr. Bontrager was able to attend the services.

Mrs. Bontrager was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Kauffman of Ohio, and Mr. Bontrager is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Menno Bontrager of Cass Lake. The couple was married about a year ago.
