Teacher and Minister Dies in Canada

Yarrow, B. C. — A largely attended funeral took place June 18 at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church as services were held for Rev. Bernhard B. Boldt, 67, widely known in Mennonite communities across Canada as a minister and teacher. He died here June 15.

Born and educated in Russia, he taught school there and also was ordained to the ministry in the Terek settlement in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. He and his family came to Winkler, Manitoba in 1924.

Rev. Boldt served as a teacher and M. B. minister in southern Manitoba, in Ontario and British Columbia. He taught in public schools and also spent a number of years in Bible school work, helping to found the Ontario M. B. Bible School at Vineland in 1941.
