text of obituary:

Susanna Boese

Susanna Boese, daughter of Karl Schortner [sic Schartner], was born January 22, 1876, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the age of 4 years she moved with her parents to South Dakota.

On May 14, 1893, she was baptized and received into the church.

On January 17, 1895, she was married to Benjamin J. Boese, to which union were born 5 children. Of these the oldest daughter Lena has preceded her in death nearly 6 years ago.

She with her family moved to Oklahoma in 1901, where they have lived ever since. She transferred her membership to the Zoar Mennonite church of Goltry, to which she has remained a faithful member.

For some time she has been somewhat ill, but since last November she took a more severe illness which continued until March 31, when she apparently seemed to be as before. But it was not for very long. After she had taken her breakfast at 8:45 a.m. she passed away.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, her children, Elvina Johnson, Enid; William at Carrier; Esther Buller at Enid; and Joseph at home. Also 14 grandchildren, of which three have been staying with the grandparents because of their mother’s death; 6 sisters and one brother. One sister and one brother have preceded her in death.

She has been a loving mother and she left the testimony that she was ready to go, and invited the others to meet her in the beyond.
