MRS. MARY A. BOESE

Mrs. Mary A. Boese, nee Buller, was born June 3, 1880, and passed from this life on Aug. 12, 1959,at Denver, Colo., reaching the age of 89 years, two months, and 12 days.

When she was a young girl, she was baptized and accepted into membership of the Mennonite church.

On Nov. 3, 1899, she was united in marriage with Benjamin M. Boese. To this union were born one son and one daughter.

She leaves to mourn her departure her son, William, of Denver, Colo., and Her daughter, Ida Pankratz of Santa Clara, Calif., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, four brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Mennonite church south of Vona, Colo. on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m., with Rev. J. W. Bergen of Colby, Kan., in charge. He was assisted by Rev. Joe Walters, missionary to Peru, now home on furlough.

The male quartet, Wilbert Becker, Leander Becker, J. Carl Harion and Guy Harrison sang “Face to Face” and “Now i Belong to Jesus,” with Mrs. Pauline McCaffery at the piano.

Mrs. Boese was one of the earliest pioneers of the Vona community. She, her husband and two children came here in the spring of 1907 where they lived for many years.

The late Mr. Boese was a carpenter and with the help of the members of this church the building was completed in 1912. Their membership remained here.
