MRS. P. F. BOESE

Mrs. P. F. (Katie Dyck) Boese was born March 15, 1880, in Germany and in 1891 her parents, Cornelius and Kathryn (Koop) Dyck migrated to America. They settled near Buhler, Kansas, on a farm. She attended early public schools here.

She was baptized upon confession of faith by Elder Dietdrich [sic Dietrich] Gaeddert in the Hoffnungsau Church near Inman, Kansas, and later transferred her membership to the Buhler Mennonite Church where she remained a member until her death. On June 19,1901, she was united in marriage to Peter F. Boese. To this union were born six sons and one daughter, Cornelius D. (Curt) of Walton, Kansas, Jacob D. of Lamar, Colo., Henry D. and Frieda (Mrs. Delmar Schwartz) of Wiley, Colo., and three sons who preceded her in death.

The parents early married life was spent in Buhler, Kansas, until 1929 when they moved to Lamar, Colo. on a farm. In 1945 they moved to Wiley, Colo. They attended regularly the Church of the Brethren.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, three sons and one daughter, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mother has been ill the last few years but a few weeks ago she had a fall and her condition became serious. She was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital, Lamar, Colo., on Jan. 8 and passed away Jan. 10. She reached the age of 77 years, nine months and 26 days.

The parents were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in June 1951.

Mother was of quiet nature and a friend to all who knew her. We will miss her but we are glad she could answer the call of her Lord Who came to take her home to glory.
