HOWARD R. BLOSSER

Howard Raymond Blosser, 91, of Beavercreek, Ohio, died May 23, 2007. He was born in 1915.

He graduated in 1939 from Goshen (Ind.) College and received his master’s degree from Ohio State University in 1955. He served in Civilian Public Service during World War II, followed by five years of voluntary church relief service in Europe. After returning to the United States, he worked at Sherwin-Williams as a paint chemist for 22 years, then was a handyman for 17 years at Carriage Hill Farm, part of Five Rivers Metro Parks.

He was an active member of Huber Mennonite Church, using his skills wherever he could. He was the congregational correspondent to Mennonite Weekly Review for Huber for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Eva Blosser; two children, Philip Blosser and his wife, Penny, and George Blosser; two brothers, Carl and Don Blosser; three sisters, Lois Amstutz, Doris Witmer and Velma Blosser; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Evan Blosser; and a sister, Laura Helfrick.

Funeral services were held at Huber Mennonite Church of New Carlisle. Burial was in Huber Mennonite Cemetery.
