FUNERAL FOR MENNONITE PIONEER
Bluffton, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church here Friday, Sept. 8, for the aged Christian Bixel, who died at his home in this city Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 5.
Grandfather Bixel, a pioneer of the community, was born in Allen county, Feb. 14, 1859, and saw the settlement here develop into one of the leading agricultural districts in the state. Rev. J. N. Smucker, pastor of the First Mennonite church, officiated at the funeral.
