MOTHER KILLED, TWO SONS PAINFULLY INJURED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT

Steinbach, Mann. [sic Manitoba] — This community and neighborhood was shocked by a most tragic accident which occurred near Mayfield on Monday, September 10.

Mrs. Mathilda Biedler, wife of Ludwig Biedler of the Friedensfeld community, with two of her sons started out on their truck for Kipling, Sask., to visit relatives there. The accident happened when the driver, the oldest of the two sons, missed a turn at Prouds Bridge near Mayfield at about one o'clock after midnight. The truck overturned and Mrs. Biedler was instantly killed. The driver was knocked unconscious, while the younger boy suffered broken limbs.

The two boys were taken to the nearby hospital at Moosomin. The dead mother was taken to the Lees funeral parlors at Virden. The body will be shipped to her home at Friefensfeld [sic Friedensfeld], where funeral services will be held in the St. Paulus Lutheran church, with Pastor Heidmann officiating. — G. G. K.
