GROVER C. BERKEY

Grover C. Berkey, 79, of Smithville, O., died suddenly of a heart attack at 2 a.m. on Sept 18, 1971.

Memorial services were held at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, O. with Rev. Lotus Troyer officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Milton Township.

He was born in Milton Township on Feb. 2, 1892, to John A. and Catherine Blough Berkey. He was a lifetime farmer, and a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Jennings Miller, whom he married in 1957; two sons, Robert of Rittman, O., and Dean of Route 1, Orrville; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Smucker of Smithville, Mrs. Cora Liechty of rural Orrville, and Mrs. L. Burkholder of Smithville; and six grandchildren.

His first wife, Grace Stuckey, died in 1954. His son died in infancy and his brother Orie in 1959.
