MRS. HELEN BERG

(Mrs.) Helen Berg of Saskatoon passed away on April 23. She was born to John and Mary Regier on December 8, 1902 in Hender·son, Nebraska. She spent, her childhood years in Henderson and Enid, Oklahoma. In 1918 her family moved to Waldheim, Sask., where she completed her high school. She attended Bethany Bible Institute in Hep· burn, Sask. for several years. She accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age, and was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in Waldheim. On September 4, 1938 she was married to David Wesley Berg in Waldheim, a widower with five young children. The couple added two more children to the family. After the sons left the farm, the couple sold it and moved to Saskatoon in 1960. They joined the Central Mennonite Brethren Church in Saskatoon. Her husband died in 1974, and she was living at the Central Haven Personal Care Home when she died.

Her family remembers her as a faithful and devout Christian, who loved her Bible and sought to maintain a strong Christian home atmosphere. She is survived by two daughters, Lydia (Mrs. Cliff) Friesen of Birch Hills, Sask. and Lois (Mrs. Roger) Hebbes of Carseland, Alta.; by five step children, Kay and husband Al Wiebe of Outlook, Sask., Pauline and husband Malven Schmidt, Ray and wife Trudy, Menno and wife Alice, all of Saskatoon, and Harold and wife Edna of Lanigan, Sask.; and by two brothers, Henry Regier and wife Mary of Abbotsford, B.C., and John Regier and wife Mary of Saskatoon. The funeral service was held on April 25 in the Central MB Church, with pastors Rueben Baerg and Waldo Pauls officiating.
