Father Killed and Daughter Badly Injured in Collision.

Belleville, Pennsylvania. — A very sad accident occurred Wednesday evening, may 24, when Mr. Levi Beiler of Elverson, R. D. 3 was instantly killed and his daughter, Sadie, was seriously injured. Miss Beiler was taken to the Pottstown Hospital where she is suffering with a fractured skull and other serious injuries.

Mr. Beiler had gone to Pottstown to met [sic] his daughter, who was employed at Boyertown, and as they were returning home on the Pottstown, West Chester road the accident occured [sic] at a slight curve near French Creek. The road was very slippery due to a heavy rain which washed some mud on the concrete, and they met a milk truck which skidded into Mr. Beilers path causing a head on collision.

Mr. Beiler's neck was broken, he was badly bruised and had his limbs broken. His automobile was very badly smashed. The truck driver was not injured except for a few minor bruises.

The funeral was held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home conducted by Christian J. Kurtz, and at the Morgantown A. M. Church at ten o'clock, conducted by John A. Kennel, Parkersburg, in German and John S. Mast in English. [T]he prayer was offered by J. D. Yoder of Belleville.

Burial was made in Mast's Cemetery.

Mr. Beiler was a member of the A. M. Church since his youth.

He was aged 65 years, 4 months and 9 days.

He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Sarah stoltzfus, and twelve children: Mrs. David Smoker, Parkersburg, R. D., Mrs. Levi Stoltzfus, Elverson, R. D., Mrs. David M. Kurtz, Morgantown, Mrs. John N. Stoltzfus, Atglen, Mrs. Jonas Yoder, Elverson, R. D., Levi S., David S., Isac K. and Stephen M. all of Elverson, R. D. J and Irvin, Harvey and Sarah at home. He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and four sisters: Emma Beiler, Mary, wife of Mast Stotzfus, Mrs. Katie B. Stoltzfus and Susie wife of Jacob Yoder, all of Elverson, R. D.

He is also survived by many more distant relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral was very largely attended.

Mr. Beiler was preceded in death by three children, his parents, and one brother, Christian. On May 12, 1933 one of his grandchildren was buried.
