ANNA RATSLAFF BEIER

Anna Ratzlaff Beier was born to Benjamin A. and Anna Dick Ratzlaff on Feb. 6, 1902, at Inman, Kan. She passed from this life Nov. 16, 1984, at Reedley, Calif., at the age of 82.

She was married to Peter Beier on march 11, 1923. They were privileged to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They moved to Reedley in 1926.

She was baptized in 1933 and joined the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church where she was a faithful member. The Women's Mission Society was a delight to her, as she always enjoyed working with her hands.

During the 1940s she was co-hostess of the church's ministry to the men of the Civilian Public Service. During these years many men from the North Fork and Three Rivers camps spent weekends in here home. These friendships continued through the years by visits and correspondence.

She was always a willing volunteer for cooking responsibilities. She cooked for church functions, youth camps and was the first cook at Hartland Christian Camp. Later she was employed by the Reedley Hospital for 13 years.

Her retirement years were full of extensive traveling with her husband. They visited all 50 states of the U.S., all the provinces of Canada, and spent several winters in Florida.

She leaves behind her husband, Peter; one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Howard) Kauffman of Fresno, Calif.; two grandsons, Lynn Kauffman of Madrid, Spain, and Morris Kauffman of Fresno; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
