Selma Behymer

Cordell, Okla. — Selma Behmyer [sic Behymer], daughter of Leander and Elizabeth Janz, was born April 27, 1915, and departed this life at 10 A. M. November 28, 1941, at the age of 26 years, 7 months, and 1 day.

She was born near Mountain View, Oklahoma, where she lived until 1928. She went to California with her parents then, returning in 1929 to Cordell where she had since made her home.

She completed grade school and later entered the Corn Bible Academy, attending one year.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Behymer by the Rev. M. L. Sims on August 28, 1933. To this union were born three children, two daughters, Ramona and Virginia Ann and one son, Kenneth Wayne. Ramona was called to her heavenly home at the early age of 4 months.

She became converted over a year ago and upon her confession of faith was baptized and became a member of the Church of God. She was active in church work, serving as Sunday school teacher and as a member of the choir. Her favorite hymns were "There's No Disappointment in Heaven" and "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be."

She became ill with the flu six weeks before her death. After the first week her condition improved but after four weeks her condition became serious again and on Friday, November 28, at 6 A. M. she suffered a stroke and at 10 A. M. she gloriously went home to her Saviour. In her suffering she prayed for her dear ones and found comfort and strength in the Lord.

She leaves to mourn her dear husband, Raymond; two children, Virginia and Kenneth; her parents; three brothers, Simon, Leander, and Theodore; five sisters, Sarah, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary, and Helen; and a host of relatives and friends.
