— People in the Goessel neighborhood were deeply shocked last Thursday morning by an automobile accident which took the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Beeton of Peabody. The accident happened at the intersection of highway No. 15 three miles south of Goessel. The Beetons' car was crossing the highway and was hit squarely by a car driven by three women from Abilene, who also were seriously injured. Both Mr. and Mrs. Beeton were dead within a short time after the accident. Their bodies were taken to the Goessel funeral home and later removed to Peabody, where funeral services were held. American highways are rapidly becoming the graveyards of the country.
