IRA BECKLER

Ira Beckler was born to Peter and Lovina (Stutzman) Beckler on Jan. 18, 1902 at Milford, Neb. He died in his home at Rt. 2, Lebanon, Ore. on Feb. 2, 1976 at the age of 74 following a long illness.

In 1906 his family moved to Wood River, Neb. where he grew to manhood. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Mennonite church. He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church near Albany, Ore.

On Oct. 20, 1921 he married Marian Boshart. They shared life's joys and sorrows for over 54 years. They lived at Wood River until 1931 when they moved to Thurman, Colo. In 1938 they moved to Oregon and have lived in the Albany-Lebanon area since.

This union was blessed with seven children. surviving him are his faithful companion; three sons and three daughters, Truman of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Naomi (Mrs.Glenn Roth) of Albany, Delmar of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Opal (Mrs. Jerry Hamilton) of Sheridan, Ore., Ardis (Mrs. J. J. Byers) of Pasco, Wash., and Clifford of Lebanon, Ore.; 23 grandchildren and three sisters, Sarah (Mrs. Ben Hochstetler and Laura (Mrs. John Stoltzfus), both of Kalona, Iowa, and Ollie (Mrs. Ora Hochstetler) of Iowa City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, six brothers and two sisters.

Father had a deep love and concern for his family and will be greatly missed by them. he loved music and could always be heard singing or whistling as he workd.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5, 1976 at the Fairview Mennonite Church with Roy Hostetler, Louis Landis and Verl Holziger officiating. Burial took place at the Fairview church cemetery.
