EDWARD J. BECKER

Funeral services for Edward J. Becker, 91, were held July 11 at the Mennonite Brethren Church, Fairview, Okla., Ernie Friesen officiating. Burial was at the South Mennonite Brethren cemetery. He died July 8, 1986.

He was born May 24, 1895, to Jacob H. and Florentine Schultz Becker. He was the first baby born within the Fairview city limits.

On April 21, 1918, he was married to Anna Fast. He farmed until his retirement in 1960, when he and his wife moved to a home in Fairview. He also owned a gas station and was a school bus driver.

He lived four or five years in Shafter, Calif., and was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, Fairview.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; three sons, Victor E. of Dinuba, Calif., Harrison R. of Okeene and Lynford J. of Hillsboro, Kan.; a daughter, Betty (Mrs. Clayton) Hamm of Enid; a brother, Reuben of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Bertha Neufeld of Shafter, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, four sisters and a grandchild.
