Cornelius Becker

Cornelius Becker was born October 15, 1882, near Halstead, Kansas, where he grew to manhood. He passed away November 23, 1928 at 11:20 P. M. at his home near Canton, Kansas, at the age of 46 years, 1 month and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Lena Unruh March 9, 1909. They were blessed with 6 children, 3 daughters and 3 sons. They shared joys and sorrows 19 years, 98 months and 7 days. They made their home at different places first at Coy Oklahoma, then moving to McPherson County, thence to Colorado, then to Scott City, Kansas, and again to McPherson County. He became converted and baptized unto the Church of God March 2, 1914, trying to live a faithful Christian life.

He took sick with pneumonia about 10 years ago. Since then he often suffered much. About 2 years ago he took sick with Bright's disease, much medical aid was sought but all of no avail. His suffering grew more and more so that the last three weeks he was confined to his bed feeling that his end was near. He bid his loved ones farewell 2 days before his death, admonishing them to be faithful so that they could meet him on the right hand. He passed away with the full assurance of entering into rest. He leaves to mourn: his dear companion, 6 children, 8 brothers, 4 sisters and parents-in-law, Tobias Unruh, and many friends. — Moundridge Journal.
