MAGGIE JANTZ BASE

Maggie Jantz was born to Henry and Elizabeth (Unruh) Jantz in the Chickasaw Nation, Okla. March 30, 1892.

The family moved to Caddo County in 1903 where they lived on a farm. She was baptized May 9, 1909, in the Mennonite church by Rev. John Ratzlaff.

She was united in marriage with Isaac Base April 10, 1910 in the Neola Schoolhouse (Greenfield Church, Carnegie) by Rev. Henry Riesen, and resided in Caddo County until her death.

To this union was born one daughter, Leota, who passed away at the age of three months. Sister Base was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

After and extended illness Sister Base departed this life Dec. 31, 1957, at the age of 65 years, nine months, and one day.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Isaac Base of Ft. Cobb, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Koehn and Mrs. John Unruh, both of Meno, Okla., besides a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Interment took place Sunday, Jan. 5, in the cemetery of the Greenfield church at Carnegie, Okla. with Rev. Hege of Geary officiating.
