— Mr. and Mrs. Henry Enz of 126 Southwest Third received word early this week of the death of Mrs. Marie Bartel of Portland, Oregon, on Feb. 23. Mrs. Bartel and her husband had lived in Newton some years ago, and he was engaged as contractor here. She was born Sept. 14, 1859, and she thus reached the advanced age of 86 years. Funeral services in Portland were conducted by Rev. C. H. Dirks.
