IMMIGRANT FROM RUSSIA IN 1920'S DIED AT AGE OF EIGHTY-ONE

Kitchener, Ont. — One of the oldest members in the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church, Cornelius J. Barg, passed away on Friday morning, Sept. 28.

Mr. Barg was born in Crimea, Russia and came to Canada in 1928. He assisted greatly in the establishment of regular Bible study and prayer meetings in the Vineland Ontario district after the Mennonites settled there. A few years later the Mennonite Brethren church ordained him as a deacon.

His widow is the former Elizabeth Unruh the only sister of Dr. Benjamin Unruh of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany and Dr. A. H. Unruh of Winnipeg, Manitoba. In addition to the widow he also leaves five children, Mrs. David Peters, Vancouver, B. C.; Mrs. Peter Schmitt, Kitchener, Woldemar Barg, St. Catherines; Mrs. C. J. Rempel, Kitchener; and Cornelius Barg, Kitchener.

Officiating at the funeral were Rev. Wichert of Vineland and Rev. Jacob J. Toews of Kitchener.
