● Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Balzer, 86, were held Saturday afternoon at the Grace hill Mennonite Church southeast of Newton, with Rev. E. J. Miller officiating. She died Dec. 12 at Axtell Christian Hospital. Mrs. Balzer was born at Elbing and was married to Isaac Balzer in 1911. They lived in the Whitewater community most of their married life, moving to newton in 1968. Mr. Balzer died in 1969. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Harms and Mrs. Henry Janzen, both of Newton, and Mrs. Wilma Harms of Hillsboro and Raymond of Whitewater; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Unruh of Colton, Calif. and Miss Rebecca Harms of Newton.
