John L. Baer

Summerfield, Ill. — John L. Baer, 42, a farmer living four miles southwest of Summerfield, died at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at his home. Death was due to influenza-pneumonia and he was ill two weeks.

He was born April 29, 18923, near Summerfield, a son of Samuel S., and Elizabeth (Reibold) Baer. His father, who lives near Summerfield, was born in Troy; the mother, who died five years ago, was born in Lebanon. he married Martha Camp at Summerfield Aug. 20, 1922.

in addition to his widow and father he is survived by two daughters and a son, Mary Elise, Ruth and Marian, all at home. He is also survived by five sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Heer, of Lebanon; Mrs. Ella Ruth and Mrs. Frieda Ruth, both of near Sumemrfield, the Missses Clara and Marie, both at home; Otto, of near Sumemrfield; Samuel of Summerfield; Harold, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Menno, of Pasadena, Calif.

The funeral will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home with services at 1:30 at the Mennonite church at Summerfield. Rev. Adolph Friesen, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Sumemrfield cemetery. Baer was a member of the Christian Endeavor Society of the Mennonite church. — Contributed.
