SERVICES HELD FOR NURSE, FORMER HOSPITAL SUPERINTENDENT
Berne, Indiana. — Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church here Oct. 27 for Mrs. Katherine Badertscher, 75, well known retired nurse who passed away Oct. 25.
One of the first Berne women to take up nursing, she graduated from the C. E. Sawyer sanatorium in 1901, and later served as its superintendent. She was also superintendent of the Bluffton Community hospital for a time, and was a nurse in the Bluffton and Lima communities for 40 years.
