BARBARA AUGUSTINE

Barbara (Roth) Augustine, daughter of Chris and Magdalena Roth, was born at Noble, Iowa on July 3, 1880; died Feb. 28, 1963 at the Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, Pa., after a brief illness, aged 82 years, seven months, 25days.

She accepted Christ in her youth and united with the Mennonite Church and was a faithful member until death.

On May 30, 1900 she was united in marriage with Simon Augustine at the Mennonite Church near Shibbaleth [sic Shibboleth], Kan.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Mattie) Eichelberger of Filer, Idaho, and Mrs. Sara (Lizzie) Stauffer of Tofield, Alberta; three daughters, Mrs. Will (Mable [sic Mabel]) Stoltzfus of Corry, Pa., Mrs. John (Tillie) Saltzman of Shickley, Neb. and Mrs. Joe (Clara) Troyer of Spartansburg, Pa.; one son, John Augustine of Spartansburg, Pa.; 21 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. March 2, 1963, at the H. Richard Hays Funeral Home in Spartansburg with Daniel Johns, pastor of the Mennonite Church of Britton Run, officiating. He read the 91st Psalm and selected Scriptures. A quartet consisting of Pastor Richard Hostetler, Larry Hurst, Richard Stutzman and Milford Byler sang. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery in Spartansburg.
