Indian Church Member And Interpreter Dies

Newton, KAN. (GCNS)— A faithful member of the Seiling Indian Church, Dan Thomas Allrunner, died Jan. 6 at the age of 68.

As a young man Allrunner lived with his parents at Thomas, Okla. After his marriage he moved to the Fonda-Seiling area.

In 1938 he professed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized by G. A. Linscheid as a member of the Fonda Mennonite Church. Later he became an active member of the Seiling Mennonite Church.

For many years Allrunner interpreted for Mennonite missionaries in the area. He served in the church by reading Scripture and by speaking. A few years ago when the Seiling Church had its first elections for a church council, he was elected a member.

On Nov. 25, 1964, he became sick suddenly and was rushed to the hospital. He died at the Veterans Hospital of Oklahoma City. O'Ray Graber, Oklahoma City minister, visited him in the hospital and was also asked to take part in the funeral service on Jan. 10.
