HEINRICH J. ADRIAN

Heinrich J. Adrian, a longtime resident of Grace Valley and Elm Creek, Manitoba, passed away in Winnipeg on June 3. He was born May 2, 1892 in Minsterberg, Russia, the son of Jacob Adrian. During his youth he lived in Terek and later at Talontarovka. After three years in the Russian service during World War I he returned to his home and was married to Emilie Retzloff. He farmed at Ebenfeld, South Russia for a few years. In 1924, together with his wife and three daughters who had already been born to them, he came to Canada, settling at Grace Valley. There seven sons and one daughter were added to the family. In 1938 the family moved to Elm Creek. The following year his wife Emilie went to be with the Lord. In 1943 he was married to Elizabeth Isaac who became a dear wife and wonderful mother to the family.

Heinrich accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of eighteen. In Canada, he was baptized and accepted into the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church. Later when the family moved to Elm Creek he joined the Newton Siding Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Elizabeth; six sons, Henry of B.C., Leonard of the N.W.T., John, Jake, George and Sam of Winnipeg; three daugh1ers, Mrs. K. (Kathie) Klassen of Elm Creek, Mrs. (Eva) Wiebe of St. Catharines and Gertrude of Winnipeg. Two children, Herman and Elsa predeceased him.
