ERNEST A. AESCHLIMAN

Ernest A. Aeschliman, son of Christian P. and Julia Roulet Aeschliman, was born in Neuenburg, Switzerland on June 13, 1871, and passed away at his home in Clarkston, Wash, on Dec. 6, 1952, at the age of 81 years, four months and 22 days.

He came to America in 1883 and located at Pulaski, Iowa. In 1893 he came to the state of Washington and settled in the Onecho community near Colfax, where he engaged in farming.

In his youth he became conscious of his lost condition and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour from sin, and was baptized upon his confession of faith and received into the membership of the Mennonite church. He helped organize the First Mennonite church of Colfax and was the last charter member of this church. He served his church faithfully and willingly, being on the church board for 25 years, and taught various Sunday school classes for many years. He also served in other offices of the church and Sunday school.

On Jan. 1, 1901, he was united in holy wedlock to Esther Ensley. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Jan. 1, 1951. Five children were born to this union. All preceded him in death in their infancy.

In 1946 he retired from farming and moved to Clarkston, Wash., where his Lord summoned him to his heavenly Home.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Harry Roulet of Colfax, and Foster Aeschliman of Pasadena, Calif., and a host of relatives and friends.
