Note: William Friesen, former director of the Schowalter Foundation, identified this boy as Stanley Jost, oldest son of the Titus F. Josts. They were a young couple who lived in the Schowalter farm home southwest of Newton, maintaining the household. Schowalter kept one room for his use. Eventually Schowalter sold 50 acres (with the buildings?) at a reasonable price to the Josts. (Mar. 2003)
