Mrs. Sarah Zweiacher

Mrs. Sarah Zweiacher was born on June 14, 1861, at Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schumacher. Death came at the Albany, Ore. Mennonite home on May 11, 1955. She would have reached the age of 94 had she lived until June 14 of this year.

Mrs. Zweiacher was baptized upon her confession of faith in 1876 at the St. John Mennonite church, now located at Pandora, Ohio.

She was united in marriage to Alfred Zweiacher in September 1890 at Darlington, Okla. where she and Mr. Zweiacher were engaged in mission work among the Indians. There were no children born to this union. Mr Zweiacher preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1952.

Surviving are great nieces and nephews from Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio, Arizona and Michigan. Mrs. Hubert Howell of Hobart, Okla. came for the funeral.

Mrs. Zweiacher became a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite church of Pratum in 1921 and was a faithful, believing member of the same church through the years. She was in poor health during the last number of years and was unable to be active in the work of the church for some time. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was sure and steadfast, and even in her declining days she gave a radiant testimony of the hope that was in her.

She had a real concern for the souls of those with whom she came in contact, witnessing to them and praying for them that they might come into the assurance of faith in Christ. With her passing we can surely say with the writer of the Scriptures, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; they rest from their labors, and their works do follow them. Blessed be the Name of the Lord."

Funeral services were held at 2:30 an [sic] May 13, 1955, in the Pratum Mennonite church with Rev. Frank S. Harder officiating assisted by Rev. J. M. Franz. Burial was made at the Pratum cemetery.
