Portsmouth, Va. — Mrs. Susie A. Zook, wife of Ira M. Zook, died at her home here Sept. 24 at the age of 80. Funeral services were conducted at the Deep Creek Mennonite church by Bishop Eli Kramer and Harvey Mast.

Mrs. Zook’s passing broke a marriage relationship extending over a period of nearly 60 years. Had she lived, she and Mr. Zook would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 12. She was well known here and in other communities, having served as correspondent for the Sugarcreek Budget for a number of years. For some years the family lived at Allensville, Pa.

In addition to her husband, she leaves five children, 26 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a half brother, Jacob Hershberger of Middlebury, Ind.

Death Breaks 60-Year Old Marriage Tie

Portsmouth, Va. — Mrs. Susie A. Zook, wife of Ira M. Zook, died at her home here Sept. 24 at the age of 80. Funeral services were conducted at the Deep Creek Mennonite church by Bishop Eli Kramer and Harvey Mast.

Mrs. Zook’s passing broke a marriage relationship extending over a period of nearly 60 years. Had she lived, she and Mr. Zook would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 12. She was well known here and in other communities, having served as correspondent for the Sugarcreek Budget for a number of years. For some years the family lived at Allensville, Pa.
