14-Month-Old Child Drowns in Bucket

Apple Creek. Ohio. — A tragic drowning mishap at the farm home of Eli J. Zooks, Route 1, Applecreek on May 9 claimed the life of their 14-month-old son, Noah E. Zook.

The little boy not able to walk yet, pulled himself up beside a five-gallon water bucket and fell in head first. The parents were doing the chores and did not discover his plight until too late. He was pronounced dead upon arrivel [sic] at the hospital in Orrville.

Funeral services were conducted at the home on May 12. The parents, three other children, and the grandparents, Joseph Zooks of Ethridge, Tenn., survive.
