MILTON ZIMMERMAN

Milton Zimmerman, son of Jacob J. and Lizzie Troyer Zimmerman, was born near Inman, Kan. on Dec. 30, 1896, and passed to his eternal reward on July 20, 1966 at the age of 69 years, seven months and 10 days.

He was married on Feb. 21, 1924 to Matilda Yoder. They lived at Harper, Kan. for 33 years, nine years ago moving to the Garden City, Mo. locality.

Surving [sic] are his wife, one brother and five sisters: Milo of Akron, Pa.; Bertha, Mrs. Roy Miller, Howe, Ind.; Myrtle, Harper, Kan.; Mrs. Alta Hostetler, Harper; Fern, Mrs. Glen Whitaker of Pueblo, Colo; and Orpha, Glenwood Springs, Colo. One sister, Dorothy, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church in Harper, Kan. and later transferred his membership to the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church at Garden City, Mo.

His body was laid to rest in the Clearfork cemetery near Garden City.

Milt, as most people called him, will be especially remembered by some for his keen sense of management and judgment about livestock, by others for his industrious spirit, his patience and perseverence [sic] during his 32 years of blindness. Others will remember him for his concern for the church and for the Word of god, and for his methods of interpretation of the Word which many knew little about, yet it spoke to his soul in no uncertain tones.
