Bishop of Lancaster Conference Dies
Ephrata, Pa. — Mahlon M. Zimmerman, 76, of Ephrata, a senior bishop of the Hammer Creek district of Lancaster Mennonite Conference, died at the Ephrata Community Hospital on July 21 after a two-year illness.
He was ordained to the ministry in 1941 and as bishop in 1952, and served in the Ephrata congregation for many years.
Funeral services were conducted at the Ephrata Mennonite Church on Sunday, July 25, with Bishop Lester S. Martin, Bishop David N. Thomas and Rev. Wilbert Lind officiating.
