LOVINA ZIMMERMAN

Lovina Zimmerman, daughter of John and Catherine Zimmerman, was born in McPherson county, Kansas, August 8, 1881, and departed this life in the Community Hospital at Anthony, Kansas, Feb. 7, 1946, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 29 days.

She lived with her parents until the time of her father's death in 1923. During this period the family lived at Centralia, Missouri, Crystal Springs, and Conway Springs, Kansas. Following the death of her father she was invited to make her home with her brother Phillip of Jet, Oklahoma. She enjoyed the hospitality of this home for 15 years. After the death of her brother Phillip, which occurred in 1938, she lived whit different relatives of the family.

On February 2, 1943, she went to the Community hospital in Anthony, Kansas, where she spent the remainder of her days. During this period of her life, which was a time of illness and suffering, she was given the best of care, and she greatly appreciated the efforts of the hospital staff in her behalf. She knew the meaning of suffering and her trials were borne patiently with Christian resignation.

She is survived by two brothers, two sisters, and one half-sister, which are the following: Jacob Zimmerman, Harper, Kansas, Samuel Zimmerman, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Lydia Brenneman, Kalona, Iowa, Mrs. Amelia Troyer, Crystal Springs, Kansas, and Mrs. Sarah Hershberger of Goshen, Indian [sic Indiana]. Two brothers, Peter and Phillip, and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Troyer, preceded her in death.

In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite church, in which faith she died. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, at the Crystal Springs Mennonite church. The service was in charge of Gideon G. Yoder, who was assisted by R. M. Weaver. interment in the nearby cemetery.
