Pretty Prairie, Kans. — Funeral services for Jacob J. Zerger, 81, pioneer immigrant from Russia and a retired farmer, were held at the First Mennonite church here Nov. 2, Dr. H. G. Nyce officiating. He died Oct. 30 at the home in Pretty Prairie where he had lived since retiring from the farm.

Mr. Zerger came to this country as a child in the 1870’s. He was married to Nettie Base Dec 31, 1896, in Illinois. She survives with their six sons and one daughter, 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

PIONEER IMMIGRANT FROM RUSSIA DIED AT PRETTY PRAIRIE

Pretty Prairie, Kans. — Funeral services for Jacob J. Zerger, 81, pioneer immigrant from Russia and a retired farmer, were held at the First Mennonite church here Nov. 2, Dr. H. G. Nyce officiating. He died Oct. 30 at the home in Pretty Prairie where he had lived since retiring from the farm.

Mr. Zerger came to this country as a child in the 1870’s. He was married to Nettie Base Dec 31, 1896, in Illinois. She survives with their six sons and one daughter, 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
