MRS. SUSIE ZERBE

Mrs. Susie (Jantzen) Zerbe, daughter of Jacob and Susana [sic Susanna] (Becker) Jantzen, was born near Marion, S. D., on Jan. 26, 1896. In her early teens she became aware of her need of the Saviour and accepted Him for her personal salvation. She was baptized in the spring of 1916 by the late Rev. Dirks P. Tieszen at the Bethesda Church near Marion. Later her membership was transferred to the Bethel Wolf Point Church in Montana.

She united in marriage with Ferdinand Zerbe in the bride's home on March 1, 1917, and shared the joys and sorrows of life with her husband for a period of 43 years. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, Albert (who died in infancy), Adolph, Donald, and Lillian.

For seven years Mr. and Mrs. Zerbe farmed near Marion, S. D. In 1924 they moved to their farm 30 miles north of Wolf Point, Mont., where she was at the time of her passing.

Mother had been ill on a number of occasions in the past years, yet was always cheerful and thoughtful of others. She loved the Word of God and took an active interest in church work. Sunday School and missionary activities.

Her final illness was diagnosed in July as cancer. She was ill just over two months when she quietly slipped through the pearly gates to her reward and eternal rest Oct. 2, 1960 at the age of 64 years, eight months and six days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Ferdinand, two sons, Adolph, Wolf Point, and Donald of Portland, Ore., one daughter, Lillian, missionary in Nigeria, Africa; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Epp, and Mrs. Corney Unruh, Marion, S. D.; two brothers, John Jantzen, Marion, and Alexander Jantzen, Watertown, S. D., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held October 5 at the Bethel Mennonite Church, Wolf Point, Mont., with Rev. Albert Adrain, Great Bend, Kansas, officiating. — The Family.
