Loweville [''sic'' Lowville], N. Y. &#8212; Funeral services for Elias M. Zehr, 64, pastor of the Lowville Mennonite church, were held at the church on March 6.

Only a few days before Rev. Zehr suffered a stroke at the close of Sunday services at the Naumburg Conservative Mennonite Church where he had given the morning sermon on "How Christian Are You?" He died at Lewis County Hospital.

Rev. Zehr was ordained to the ministry in 1943. He had also been a dairy farmer for more than 41 years. A son, Milton J. Zehr, was ordained in November 1969 to assist him.

Surviving are his widow, the former Martha Widrick, six daughters, five sons, 29 grandchildren.

Pastor of New York Church Dies After Suffering Strokes

Loweville [sic Lowville], N. Y. — Funeral services for Elias M. Zehr, 64, pastor of the Lowville Mennonite church, were held at the church on March 6.

Only a few days before Rev. Zehr suffered a stroke at the close of Sunday services at the Naumburg Conservative Mennonite Church where he had given the morning sermon on "How Christian Are You?" He died at Lewis County Hospital.

Rev. Zehr was ordained to the ministry in 1943. He had also been a dairy farmer for more than 41 years. A son, Milton J. Zehr, was ordained in November 1969 to assist him.
