Retired Minister Dies at Goshen

Goshen, Ind. — Rev. Noah Zehr, 76, a retired minister of the Conservative Mennonite Church, died at the Goshen General Hospital on Dec. 2.

A native of Allen County, he was ordained to the ministry in 1932 and for some years served the Cuba Mennonite Church at Grabill, Ind. Since 1945 he had lived in the Middlebury community, and served in the Griner and Riverview congregations there.

He leaves his widow, the former Elizabeth Swartz; a daughter, Mrs. Alvin Kauffman of Middlebury; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, David, of Topeka; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Schmucker of New Haven.

Funeral services for Rev. Zehr were held Dec. 5 at the First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, with Rev. Samuel Troyer and Rev. Wilbur Yoder officiating.
