STUDENT AT LANCASTER MENNONITE SCHOOL DROWNED IN CREEK
Lancaster, Pa. — Alvin Yost, 15 year old son of Min. Ray S. and Irene Kauffman Yost and a sophomore at Lancaster Mennonite School, drowned in the rain-swollen Mill Creek near the school on April 28. Funeral services were held at the Mechanics Grove Mennonite church.
The tragedy occurred when the youth attempted to wade across the stream, which was out of its banks after six days of heavy rains. He lost his footing and was swept downstream. The body was found two days later near Bonholtzer's Mill, about a mile from the school.
The parents and four brothers and sisters survive.
