• Walter E. Yordy, 80, father of Rev. Richard Yordy of Hesston, died Feb. 25 at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton where he had been a guest since August 1974. He formerly lived at Lyons, Ill. His wife, the former Alma Eigsti, preceded him in death. Surviving in addition to the son at Hesston are another son, James, and a daughter, Edith, both of Lyons; three brothers, Jonas and Ezra of Eureka, Ill. and Alvin of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Schrock of Eureka; and eight grandchildren. Friends of the family gathered in the Sunday school wing of the Hesston Mennonite Church on Thursday evening, Feb. 26, for a time of sharing. Further memorial services were held Saturday afternoon at the Roanoke Mennonite Church near Eureka and Sunday afternoon at the Lombard, III. Mennonite Church, with burial in a Chicago cemetery. Miller Funeral Home of Goessel was in charge of arrangements.
