Kalona, iowa. &#8212; Injuries suffered in an accident Sept. 13 at the farm of Mrs. Ada Fisher near Wellman proved fatal to her uncle, Truman Yoder, 70, retired farmer of the Kalona community. He died in University Hospital, Iowa City, a short time after the accident.

It was reported that a power auger, being used to drill holes in preparation for erection of a pole-type barn, came loose from the boom as it was lifted out of the ground. The auger fell and struck Mr. Yoder, who was standing nearby.

A lifelong resident here, he was married to Sadie Knepp who survives. The funeral was conducted Sept. 16 at the Kalona Mennonite Church.

Retired Farmer Fatally Hurt in Accident at Construction Site

Kalona, iowa. — Injuries suffered in an accident Sept. 13 at the farm of Mrs. Ada Fisher near Wellman proved fatal to her uncle, Truman Yoder, 70, retired farmer of the Kalona community. He died in University Hospital, Iowa City, a short time after the accident.

It was reported that a power auger, being used to drill holes in preparation for erection of a pole-type barn, came loose from the boom as it was lifted out of the ground. The auger fell and struck Mr. Yoder, who was standing nearby.
