Topeka, Ind. — Jacob S. Yoder, 96, the oldest resident of this northern Indiana community, died Aug. 13 at Lagrange County Hospital after suffering a stroke on Aug. 8. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Yoder was a native of Lagrange County and a lifelong resident of this community. He formerly was employed at a local hardware store.
Survivors include his third wife, the former Elizabeth Hostetler; two daughters, three stepsons, and three stepdaughters; two granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Holly Bontrager of Shipshewana.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Topeka Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.
