Saloma Ann Yoder, oldest daughter of Jacob and Malinda Wayne Yoder, was born in Indiana just across the line near Sturgis, Mich. on Dec. 28, 1877, and passed away at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio on the evening of June 18, 1863, aged 85 years, five months, and 21 days.

On Dec. 31, 1899 she married Bishop A. I. Yoder, and with him shared the busy life of a pastor's wife for 33 years. His ministry took them from the East Union congregation at Kalona, Iowa, to Happy, Texas and then in the South Union church at West Liberty, Ohio, which he served until his death on Nov. 27, 1932.

Nine children were born to the family with one son and six daughters surviving. They are Ruth (Mrs. Tom Yoder), Mill Creek, Pa., Mary (Mrs. Newton Yoder), West Liberty, ohio, Esther (Mrs. A. P. Hallman), Akron, Pa.; Elsie (Mrs. Milton Brunk), Braddock Heights, Md.; Estella (Mrs. Melvin Schrock), Lacon, Ill.; Sanford A. Yoder, Goshen, ind.; and Lois at home. Two sons, Jason and Mark, are deceased.

She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Mother was the oldest of a family of eight children, all of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Amos Gingerich, Parnell, Iowa; Mrs. Chauncey Hershberger, Mrs. J. P. Miller, Miss Clara Yoder, Chris A. Yoder and Truman Yoder, all of Kalona, Iowa, and Oliver J. Yoder of Flanagan, Ill.

She was a member of the South Union Mennonite Church and for many years served actively as a minister's wife, Sunday school teacher, and faithful worker in the sewing circle, which she attended as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were conducted at the South Union church by Bro. Roy Koch and Bro. Edward Stoltzfus, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Family.
